  • Problems with real numbers

Given figures built on your book's laws and examples, asking for a result: 5 problems at 3 marks, 3 equations at 2.

  • Word problems hide the equation

The question gives the situation and numbers only; turning it into an equation is step one of the answer.

  • Solve, form or balance

Equation questions ask to solve for an unknown, form an equation or balance a reaction, often running the law backwards.

Find k if the distance is 5 m.

  • A key with every step

At least three steps from the law to the result, then the result alone, so you see where a student stopped.

Questions teachers ask

  • A numerical problem is marked the moment it is submitted: the student's final answer is compared with the result in the key, for full marks or zero, and the working is not marked online. Equations are marked by AI by meaning, with full, half or zero marks, and you can review and change that mark.

  • Yes. Problems can be made from any book with laws and calculations, and in chemistry an equation question can be balancing a reaction equation from the book.

  • Yes. Add a multiple-choice or essay row next to the problems. Each type gets its own titled section, such as "Solve the numerical problems" and "Solve or balance the equations".
