Protecting the teacher's work
A video that took you hours can be shared around in a minute. So the app stacks several layers of protection that block screen recording and make any leak traceable to whoever did it.
On Android, recordings and screenshots come out as a black screen. On iPhone, the video pauses and hides as soon as screen recording or mirroring starts.
The student's name and part of their phone number move across the video the whole time, so if someone films the screen with another phone, you know who leaked it.
Videos are never downloaded as files. Every play uses a temporary link tied to the student's account that expires shortly after.
Each account is bound to a small number of devices, so one student can't hand their login to ten friends.
Rooted or jailbroken phones can't play lessons, because they can bypass the protection.
To be straight with you: no protection anywhere can stop someone filming a screen with a second phone. What we do is shut every easy route, and make sure any leak still carries the name of the account it came from.
